FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY Douglas County Minnesota
Welcome to our newly created Douglas County Friends of the Library Website which will provide visitors easy access to our programs, events and details on how we live out our Mission “To support and promote the Douglas County Library”.
Organized in 1982 with just 36 members, we are celebrating 35 years of partnering with our Library to enhance what we provide the citizens of Douglas County. Read more about how our Friends group developed over time to what it is today on our History page. Today, our 313 Friends member units are the key to our successful fundraising efforts and I encourage you to become a member today!

Literacy is so important to me, it is the foundation of our education and I am so passionate about children and literacy. The Friends of the Library allows me to help promote and make a sound impact on literacy in Douglas County!
I’ve been a part of the Friends of the Library for 2 years and have loved the experience. Through fundraising and other events the Friends continually shine a light on our local library. While the Library stands on its own as a resource for information and entertainment, the Friends do an incredible job of increasing the Library’s community recognition and involvement. I’m very proud to be a member of the Douglas County Friends and would recommend membership to anyone interested in the well-being of our library.
